Pathways to Real Careers!
GICA's Career Pathways have been created to provide essential learning tracks to 18 distinctive career curriculums – some of which are college preparatory focused through the Dual Enrollment Program. Dual enrollment enables team members to earn college and high school credit simultaneously while still in high school. GICA Career Pathways which also earn college credit through our academic partnership with Altamaha Technical College are:
- Cosmetology
- Culinary Arts
- Criminal Justice/ Law Enforcement/Public Safety
- Heating/Ventilation/Air Conditioning & Refrigeration
As a dual enrollment student, you can accomplish the following:
- Work on college classes that will give you a head start on a technical college curriculum
or
- Earn a college technical certificate in an occupation of your choice
Imagine starting technical college (following high school graduation) with some of your classes completed. This will cut down the time necessary to complete your technical college education. Or, you can earn a college technical certificate from a list of popular occupations. This means that upon graduation from college you will be qualified for a job that is in demand in today's high tech workplace.
Those interested in the Dual Enrollment Program should communicate with their school guidance counselor. To enter the GICA dual enrollment program, registrants must coordinate admissions with Altamaha Technical College. Parental permission is also required.
