Our enrollment as to now is approximately 700 on campus, 100 in work based learning, and over 125 in dual enrollment with Coastal Pines Technical College.

Soft skills are essential for entering workforce

More than 60 colleges and universities sent representatives to Bruncwick High School on Wednesday to share what their schools can offer prospective students from BHS, Glynn Academy, Frederica Academy and McIntosh County Academy.

High school counselors and homeroom teachers had previously discussed the Probe College Fair with their students the kinds of questions they could ask the college staffers about the programs, scholarships and other opportunities available to them.

New study confirms soft skills needed

The lack of soft skills in the local workforce, especially among younger employees, has long troubled area businesses. And one new study, conducted by Family Connection Glynn, illustrates that area employers still feel it’s the leading challenge confronting the labor force.

That was the message Melinda Ennis-Roughton, executive director for Family Connection Glynn County, and Faith Copeland-Pittman, business services recruiter with the Georgia Department of Labor, shared with the Brunswick-Golden Isles Chamber of Commerce at its regular meeting Wednesday.
