Heating and Air Conditioning Career Pathway

Careers in the heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration field offer students many employment options as well as opportunities for self-employment and small business ownership.

The Air Conditioning Technology Program is a sequence of courses that prepares students for careers in the air conditioning industry. Learning opportunities develop academic, technical, and professional knowledge and skills required for job acquisition, retention, and advancement. The program emphasizes a combination of air conditioning theory and practical application necessary for successful employment.

The Early College Program is a unique opportunity for the high school student to earn college credit while also satisfying high school graduation requirements. Altamaha Technical College is here to help lead the way to a smooth, seamless college experience. To participate, high school students need to communicate with their high school counselor and coordinate admissions requirements
with the College. Parental permission is also required.

Courses of Study:

Program graduates receive an Air Conditioning Technician Assistant TCC, are eligible to sit for the EPA and 410A certification, and are eligible to continue their college education to earn the full Air Conditioning Technology Diploma with Altamaha Technical College.

Air Conditioning Technician Assistant
The Air Conditioning Technician Assistant Technical Certificate of Credit program gives the student a basic knowledge of air conditioning and refrigeration skills needed to be an assistant to an air conditioning technician.

Golden Isles Career Academy (GICA), is a new charter school in Brunswick, GA operating within the Glynn County Schools System. Rising Glynn County 10th, 11th & 12th grade high school students are eligible for enrollment. GICA’s academic partners include Altamaha Technical College and the College of Coastal Georgia.
