Learning opportunities develop academic and professional knowledge and skills required for job acquisition, retention, and career advancement. The program emphasizes specialized training in: occupational safety, sanitation, state laws as they apply to the industry, rules and regulations of the industry, chemistry, anatomy and physiology, skin, hair, and nail diseases and disorders, hair treatments and manipulations, hair shaping, hair styling, artificial hair, braiding/intertwining hair, chemical
reformation and application, skin and nail care, hair coloring, hair lightening, customer reception, sales, and business management.

The Early College Program is a unique opportunity for the high school student to earn college credit while also satisfying high school graduation requirements. Altamaha Technical College is here to help lead the way to a smooth, seamless college experience. To participate, high school students need to communicate with their high school counselor and coordinate admissions requirements with the College. Parental permission is also required. Program graduates receive a Shampoo Technician
Technical Certificate of Credit and are eligible to continue their college education in the Cosmetology
program for a diploma with Altamaha Technical College.
Shampoo TechnicianThe Shampoo Technician Technical Certificate of Credit Program prepares students for entry level
assistant cosmetologist positions. Program graduates are employable in a beauty shop or salon as an assistant to a Master Cosmetologist.
